Champawat (Uttarakhand) [India], August 19 (ANI): Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami participated on Monday in the Bagwal fair held at Maa Varahi Dham in Devidhura of Champawat district on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan.
On this occasion, the Chief Minister offered a bell at Maa Varahi temple and wished for the prosperity and progress of the state. The Chief Minister witnessed the world-famous stone war played with fruits and flowers between four Kham Saat Thok at Maa Varahi Dham. This year, the stone war lasted for about 11 minutes.
Dhami also announced that the construction work of flood protection in Ratia River in Reetha and the construction of an alternative approach road will be done and the left-out infrastructure work of Varahi temple will be included under the Manaskhand corridor. The Chief Minister also inspected the stalls set up by various departments.

Pushkar Singh Dhami greeted all the Gods and Goddesses while wishing everyone a Happy Raksha Bandhan. “I was feeling overwhelmed by coming to the historical and picturesque area of Devidhura. Bagwal Mela is a confluence of our folk culture, faith and traditions. This fair promotes our culture and traditions as well as promotes our culture,” said Dhami.
He said that the coming generation should keep getting the energy to follow and carry forward the old traditions. “It is the duty of all of us to carry forward the folk culture from generation to generation,” added Dhami.
He said that the Gods reside in every particle of Devbhoomi. “Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, our government is preserving the cultural heritage of Devbhoomi as well as promoting mythological sites. Under the Manaskhand Mandir Mala Mission, the mythological temples of the Kumaon region are being beautified. Devidhura is also an important part of this mission.”

He added that along with the four Dhams, the work of connecting the temples in Manaskhand with ropeways is also going on.
Maa Purnagiri Dham is being connected with ropeways. Special trains are also being run under the Manaskhand Yatra. The Chief Minister said that the state government is continuously working in various fields like agriculture, milk production, education, horticulture, along with the promotion of temples in the state. Champawat Mahavidyalaya is being developed as a campus of Soban Singh Jeena University. ARTO sub-office has been opened in Champawat headquarters,” said Dhami.
Along with making Champawat an ideal district, the state government is continuously working on making Uttarakhand the best state.
During this, the Chief Minister launched the “Jai Maa Varahi” video prepared by folk artist Girish Bargali. On this occasion, he also planted a sapling on the GIC campus in Devidhura, near the helipad. (ANI)
