Shimla (Himachal Pradesh) [India], August 8 (ANI): Shiromani Akali Dal Chairman Sukhbir Singh Badal and former member of Lok Sabha Sukhbir Singh Badal paid a courtesy call to Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu at Shimla on Thursday.
In a post on X, Sukhbir Badal wrote, “Met with the Chief Minister of the state, Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu, today at his office in Shimla regarding the problems faced by Punjabi tourists in Himachal Pradesh and some other important issues.”
“Grateful that after a serious discussion, the Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh assured to ensure the resolution of all the issues soon,” read the post.

The SAD leader was also presented with a ‘Himachali cap’ on the occasion.
Earlier, Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu presided over a meeting of senior officers of the Power Department in Shimla on Wednesday.
The Chief Minister emphasised the need to enhance solar power generation in the state and said that a 32 MW solar power project has been established at Pekhubela in Una district, and a 10 MW solar power project and a 5 MW project are under construction in Kutlehar and Gagret assembly constituencies, respectively.
CM Sukhu said that Himachal Pradesh would be in a position to harness around 50 MW of solar energy in the coming six months.
The Chief Minister said that the state government was also “encouraging the youth to enter the solar power generation sector” and “earn a livelihood for themselves. These projects would be allotted to bona fide Himachalis.”
He said that the power demand was increasing day by day and keeping this in mind, solar power should also be harnessed alongside hydroelectric power.
“Solar energy is a clean and renewable source, reducing carbon emissions and minimising the reliance on fossil fuels. These solar power projects also need minimal maintenance and a longer life span,” said the Chief Minister.
CM Sukhu said that “climate change was the biggest challenge” and that “green initiatives can play a pivotal role in mitigating the effects of global warming.” (ANI)
