Amritsar (Punjab) [India], October 12 (ANI): Punjab Police on Saturday recovered 10.4 kg of heroin near Sukhewala village of Amritsar, said the police.
In a major blow to transborder narcotic smuggling, Amritsar Counter Intelligence intercepted two suspicious vehicles near Village Sukhewala.
According to the police, one of the accused, Sukhraj Singh from TarnTaran, along with an unidentified accomplice, fled in an SUV, while another car containing the illicit drugs was seized on the spot.
A case has been registered under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act (NDPS Act) against the absconded, and extensive efforts are being made to apprehend the absconding suspects, said Punjab Police.
Further details awaited. (ANI)
