Sambhal (Uttar Pradesh) [India], June 7 (ANI): Sambhal Superintendent of Police KK Bishnoi on Saturday noted that Eid al-Adha is being celebrated peacefully in the district, with multiple security teams deployed to ensure smooth disposal of remains after sacrifice rituals and maintain law and order.
“We have five circles in Sambhal district, and Eid namaz in all the circles has concluded. Five companies of PAC, RRF personnel and with that, drones were used for surveillance… Teams have been deployed so that the remains after the sacrifice rituals can be disposed of in a timely manner,’ the Sambhal SP told ANI.
He assured peace and said a time limit has been set for celebrations, with social media being monitored closely.
“Eid al-Adha is being celebrated very peacefully. In case of any kind of issues, toll-free numbers have been provided. In the peace committee meetings, it has been advised to people not to take law and order into their own hands… A time limit has been set and the same was conveyed during the peace committee meetings. Everyone is adhering to it… Social media is being properly monitored…” Bishnoi added.
Earlier in the day, District Magistrate Rajendra Pensiya said that a three-tier security system was implemented in Sambhal for Eid celebrations, with people agreeing to perform sacrifices peacefully only at the traditional places allocated to them.
“A three-tier security system has been put in place, which includes Sector Magistrates, General Magistrates, and forces on the ground. Flag marches and patrolling were also done earlier. In our meetings of the peace committee, everyone agreed not to offer sacrifices at public places and to offer sacrifices with complete peace and cooperation only at the traditional places allocated earlier,” Pensiya told the media.
He also said that people were cooperating and no problems had occurred during the celebrations so far. He praised the Police and administration for making adequate arrangements. (ANI)
