Chandigarh (Punjab) [India], August 28 (ANI): Amid the launch of the expansion of the Breakfast Scheme by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin and Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, Delhi Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa criticised Mann, stating that while the whole of Punjab was devastated by heavy rain, he had no other work except looting people.
Sirsa further stated that it was “sad” and “regretful” that the people of Punjab had such a CM who was useless and a looter.
“The CM had the time and money to go to Tamil Nadu and launch the breakfast scheme, while here in his own state people are losing their lives due to floods. People have suffered losses worth billions of rupees. The whole of Punjab is devastated, and these people have no other work except looting. It is very sad and regretful that the people of Punjab have made such a Chief Minister, who is useless and is also looting…” Sirsa told ANI.
This comes after Stalin, along with Mann, launched the expansion of the CM’s breakfast scheme for government-aided schools in the urban areas.
Meanwhile, amid the ongoing flood crisis in Punjab, the government has deployed the entire cabinet to the worst-hit districts to lead relief and rescue operations.
Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann has instructed all ministers to remain stationed in flood-affected areas until the situation is entirely under control, signalling the government’s zero-tolerance approach to delays in relief work.
The ministers have been tasked with supervising the evacuation of residents, monitoring the supply of essential commodities, and ensuring immediate medical and shelter assistance to those displaced by the rising waters.
Finance Minister Advocate Harpal Singh Cheema, while conducting a detailed review of the situation with the Deputy Commissioners of Sangrur and Mansa over a conference call, said, “Our top priority is to save every life and protect every property. No stone should be left unturned in mitigating the hardships faced by the people in flood-hit areas.
Several other Cabinet Ministers have also been assigned specific districts to oversee relief efforts. Harbhajan Singh ETO has been supervising operations in Ramdas, Tarn Taran, Sri Goindwal Sahib, and Ajnala. (ANI)
