CM Chandrababu Naidu also announced a compensation of Rs 5 lakh to the families of the deceased, on behalf of the state government, informed an official release on Saturday.
The four people, namely Meghna, Bolem Lakshmi, Lalu and Annapoorna, lost their lives in a landslide incident after a boulder broke and fell on their houses. This comes as heavy rains continue to lash various parts of the state.
CM Naidu also stock of the relief measures from the officials and assured them that the Andhra government would stand by the families of the deceased. He also directed authorities to evacuate locals to safer areas from the places where the danger of landslides is lurking.
He has advised people as well as the officials to be alert given the possibility of heavy rains for 2-3 days in the state. The Chief Minister also urged people to follow the instructions given by the officials during such times.
Earlier, in the wake of the heavy rainfall situation that has battered several parts of the state, CM Naidu held a review meeting and instructed officials to be vigilant and alert in the rain-affected areas, adding that the necessary assistance be provided to the people.
The Chief Minister on Friday directed officials to ensure that all departments are on high alert; declare holidays for schools in areas with heavy rainfall; install warning boards near overflowing streams and rivers to prevent accidents; and send alert messages to mobile phones of people in affected areas.
