Tarn Taran (Punjab) [India], September 1 (ANI): BSF acting on a specific information, recovered one small drone alongwith a packet of suspected narcotics in Tarn Taran district on Sunday, officials said.
In a press release, BSF said, “The search culminated at about 08:10 am with the successful recovery of one small drone along with one packet of suspected heroin (Gross weight- 536 Grams) from the premises of Radha Swami Satsang, adjacent to village- Naushera Dhalla in district Tarn Taran. The narcotics were wrapped with yellow adhesive tape and a plastic ring with one illuminating stick was also found attached to the packet.”
BSF further said that the troops conducted a search operation in the suspected area.
In a press release, BSF stated, “On September 1, in the morning hours, acting on a specific information of BSF intelligence wing about presence of a drone in the border area of Tarn Taran district, BSF troops immediately conducted a search operation in the suspected area.”
The recovered drone has been identified as a China-made DJI MAVIC 3 Classic.
Punjab Frontier, in a press release, said that reliable information and swift action of BSF troops effectively thwarted yet another attempt of drone intrusion alongwith narcotics consignment in Punjab from across the border.
Earlier last month, security forces recovered a drone during a joint search operation in the border area of the Tarn Taran district of Punjab.
A statement released by the Public Relations Officer, Punjab Frontier, Border Security Force said, “On August 7, based on information by BSF intelligence wing about the presence of a fallen drone in the border area of Tarn Taran district, a joint search operation by BSF troops in collaboration with Punjab Police was conducted in the suspected area.” (ANI)
