Patna (Bihar) [India], August 30 (ANI): Bihar Minister Sanjay Saraogi on Saturday launched a fierce attack on the opposition over alleged derogatory remarks made against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his late mother during an INDIA bloc event in Darbhanga, saying that the opposition has reached the “pinnacle of lowliness.”
He said that such conduct had deeply hurt the sentiments of people in the culturally revered region of Mithila.
Speaking to ANI, Saraogi said, “These people have reached the pinnacle of lowliness. Mithila is the land of Janaki Maa, and these people have tarnished the image of this place. Derogatory words were used about PM Modi’s late mother, abuses and insults were hurled; these people have tarnished the entire land of Mithila.”
Alleging that the remarks were made to appease a “particular section of society,” Saraogi said the opposition’s ongoing Voter Adhikar Yatra held no moral ground in light of the controversy.
“Every single person in Mithila is angry… Rahul Gandhi and Tejashwi Yadav should take out a ‘Prayischit Yatra’ instead of a ‘Vote Adhikar Yatra’… These people have done all this to satisfy a particular section of society; the people of Mithila will never forget this insult,” the Bihar Minister said.
Meanwhile, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Congress workers clashed in Bihar’s Patna on Friday over the alleged derogatory remarks against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his late mother during an INDIA bloc rally in Darbhanga.
Stones were pelted at the site as the BJP staged a protest against the Congress in front of the Congress office in Patna.
Bihar Minister and BJP leader Nitin Nabin stated that the public will give a “befitting reply” to Congress.
Nabin told ANI, “Every son of Bihar will give a befitting reply to Congress for insulting a mother. We will take revenge for this.”
While Congress worker Ashutosh slammed Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, claiming that the clash happened with the government’s involvement.
“A befitting reply will be given. This is happening with the government’s involvement. Nitish Kumar is doing wrong,” Ashutosh said. (ANI)
